Green Bean Pasta Penne

Savory Satisfaction

Having Italian take up a huge portion of my heritage and being raised in the Memphis, Tennessee area, I was always around a lot of different cultures.

This Green Bean Pasta Penne recipe is a mix of some of those cultures.

It is very simple.

And 

It is savory and satisfying!!


Ingredients:

3 slices of Kroger Hardwood Smoked Bacon cut into 1 inch strips
1/4 cup shredded carrots
1/2 onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, smashed or chopped


Directions:

Cook pasta to about a minute before al dente, according to package instructions.

Strain pasta and immediately run cold water through for about 10 seconds

Set aside






Put bacon in medium sauce pan and cook over medium heat for a couple of minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add carrots, onion, garlic, and spices and cook until edges of onion start to caramelize.

Add green beans, stir, cover, and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.






Add brown gravy mix and water.






Bring mixture to a boil.

Lower heat and let simmer 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Stir in pasta.





Cover, remove from heat, and let stand for 10 minutes.






Serve immediately

Serves 2-4
