Sweet And Tangy Marinara Sauce Is Hearty And Refreshing


If you have any extra Lemon Sauce For Chicken Steak Pork Or Fish left in your refrigerator, this recipe is an excellent display of the sauce's versatility.

The sweet sausage flavor pairs nicely with the lemon and tomato tang for an invigorating summer appetite satisfaction.

This sweet and tangy red tomato marinara pasta sauce recipe is SO GOOD and SO SIMPLE!!!



Ingredients:

1/2 onion, chopped
I can crushed tomatoes
1 8 oz can tomato sauce or 6 oz can tomato paste 
1/2 lb sliced mushrooms (optional)
1/2 cup water (1 cup if using tomato paste)

Directions:

Combine Lemon sauce and onion into 4 qt sauce pan.

Saute over medium heat until onion edges have caramelized.






Add sausage to pan, separate, and brown for about 5 minutes, stir occasionally. 







Stir mushrooms into mixture and allow to cook down for about 5 minutes, stir occasionally.







Add seasoning mix, tomatoes, tomato sauce or paste, and water, stir well.

Bring to a boil, stir well, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 20 minutes. 

Let stand for 5-10 minutes.

Stir and serve with favorite pasta.
