Sweet And Savory Sauerkraut

This Sauerkraut Is Everybody's Sauerkraut

Sauerkraut is not always everyone's favorite around the dinner table.

Let's be honest.

You either love it, or you don't.

This sweet and savory sauerkraut recipe will leave the sauerkraut hater at your table begging for more!


Ingredients:

2 slices bacon, cut into 1 inch strips
1 Hillshire Farms Polska Kielbasa  smoked sausage, thinly sliced
1/2 onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped or smashed


Directions:

Put bacon in a large skillet and cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes.




Add onion and garlic and continue to saute until edges of onions start to caramelize.






Add sausage to mixture.




Add raisins to mixture and cook sausage until edges have browned.





Stir sauerkraut into mixture and continue to saute over medium heat for 5-10 minutes, or until the liquids are 






Remove from heat and let stand for about 10 minutes.


Serves 4-6

This is comfort food for me.

It was a childhood favorite that my mother made for us as kids, constantly.

My brother hated sauerkraut until she started making it like this.

I know for sure the sweet and savory sauerkraut will be pleasing to you and anyone else that might be at your table.
