Yellow Split Pea Soup

Warm Up Chilly Bones

After a night of outdoors and thin materials, a piping hot meal seems suitable for chilly bodies.

This Yellow Split Pea Soup will definitely do the trick.

It's a treat.

:-)

Ingredients:

6 slices Farmland Classic Cut Bacon, cut into 1 inch strips
Onion, chopped
1 Celery Stick, chopped
4 Garlic Cloves, chopped
8 cups Water

Directions:

In a large soup pot, cook bacon slices over medium heat for 3-5 minutes.

Add onion and garlic and continue to cook until the edges of the onion begin to turn light brown.

Add remaining ingredients.

Bring mixture to a boil.

Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally until no lumps are present, adding water if necessary.

Serves 8-10

That's it!

This Yellow Split Pea Soup is ideal after coming in from the cold!

I know it will warm up the smiles around your table.

It also freezes well for later enjoyment.

Happy Eating!
